How to choose a reagent bottle for reagents with corrosive gases

2025-03-13

Chemical reagents are chemical substances with high purity used by production, scientific research and other departments to detect the composition, properties and quality of substances, most of which have certain toxicity and danger, and the selection of reagent bottles according to the characteristics of reagents is the basis for ensuring the stability of reagents. So what kind of reagent bottle should be selected for storage of some reagents that are prone to volatile corrosive gases?
Let's take liquid bromine and concentrated hydrochloric acid as examples. Liquid bromine is dense, volatile, toxic, and burns the skin after splashing with bromine. Therefore, liquid bromine should be stored in a sealed brown grind-top fine-mouth reagent bottle. In order to prevent its spread, it is generally closed with water on the liquid level of bromine. Then put the brown reagent bottle cap of liquid bromine tightly into the plastic bottle and place it in a cool place that is not easy to knock over. When using, use a glue-tip dropper to quickly draw a small amount of liquid bromine into the water surface, and then seal the reduction site.
Concentrated hydrochloric acid is easy to release hydrogen chloride gas, has a strong pungent odor and is high, so it should be stored in a grinding mouth fine-mouth reagent bottle, placed in a cool place, and stored away from concentrated helium water. When taking or preparing the solution of this type of reagent, if the heat is large and the contact time is long, a gas mask should also be worn.
Strengthening the management of chemical reagents is the need to ensure the quality of analytical results, and it is also a necessary guarantee to ensure the safety of experiments.
